Flights from Birmingham International Airport to Corfu
Thomson Flights, Monarch Charter, flythomascook charter, flythomascook and easyJet all operate flights from Bristol to Corfu Kerkyra Airport.
It takes just over three hours to fly to Corfu Airport from Bristol Airport. All times quoted on the airlines timetable are local.
Due to all the extra security checks now taking place, one of the biggest problems the airline industry is experiencing at the moment is lost luggage.
On the busy days (Mondays and Fridays) in the high season (July and August) you might have to wait a long time for your baggage: maybe an hour or longer before your baggage appears on the carousel. There is no facility to store baggage at the airport and if your bags fail to appear go to the information counter in the arrivals hall.
Further Information on Corfu
The beautiful island of Corfu lies to the north of the Ionian Sea at the entrance
of Adriatic Sea. It is the second largest island in the group known as the Ionian Greek Islands.
Corfu is the most green of the Greek Islands with over three million olive trees and countryside covered in flowers. There is some spectacular coastal scenery and secluded sandy beaches and coves.
Corfu has a lot of small traditional villages, some of which are now uninhabited. Some of the larger villages include Agios Matheos which is a mountainous village located 25 km south west of Corfu town: Benitses 14 km south of Corfu town used to be a fishing village and Paleokastritsa is the one of the most famous villages on Corfu. Is located 26 km northwest of Corfu town with the popular Paleokastritsa beach surrounded by bars and restaurants. From there you can get a boat which will take you around the many caves in the area.
The best way to see all these places is to hire a car from the Airport as this is an easy way to get to your holiday destination and then visit places of the tourist routes served by the limited bus service.
Corfu Airport lies just 3km from the centre of the town and alternative means of transport other than hiring a car include booking a private airport transfer where your very own personal driver will meet you in arrivals or you can pre book a seat on a private shuttle bus which is a slightly cheaper option.
